Allford Hall Monaghan Morris celebrated thirty years of architectural practice by publishing a full inventory of their works. Ranging from an early top-floor apartment refurbishment (with writer's retreat) to a prominent South London school (with Stirling Prize recognition), nothing is excluded.
The editorial strategy takes a firmly democratic approach, allotting one image and spread per project, regardless of scale, age or prominence. The form of the book picks up the same principle, allowing the index to cover the binding cloth, using years instead of page numbers and adding thumb tags to locate them. Beyond being wayfinders, these notches act as a form of instant information design—their positions clearly communicate varying volumes of work over the 30-year span.
