Bioengineering — Helping bioengineers build their own visual identity.
Bioengineering designs, builds and configures equipment for the international biotech industry. This ranges from the tiniest component to factory-sized production plants and all takes place from their base in the small village of Wald, just outside Zurich.
We created a new visual identity perhaps better described as a piece of visual engineering itself; a toolkit of letterform ‘components’ which can be assembled and reassembled in an ever-evolving set of ‘BIO’ marks, symbolising (literally) Bioengineering’s ceaseless inventiveness.
In working with the new identity we have also found a novel way to draw upon the talents of the inventors themselves. Bio’s community of engineers gather monthly to assemble a specially made kit of large-scale magnetic graphic components, the pick of which join the collection of marks used on applications across print, web, packaging and literature.
